Swarries Bar - our famous watering hole!

Swarries Bar opened on 31st December 1992 after the heat drove Nic and the guys to the stoep on the 30th with nothing to do or drink.

'n Moerse groot hammer was found in the shed and Nicolaas, Dirk, Tallies, Swarrie, Oups and Ryk were the first to start making the whole in the wall for this famous "watergat"!

Obviously the woman had to do the hard work - with the sun baking on their backs they had to run up and down to fetch refreshments from their houses.

Wow! Now we had a bar - half the size of what you see at the moment BUT it was a bar with wobbly shelves and lots of alcohol. Gerald Bessesen donated our first bar counter and music was supplied by my dad's father's day present - a lekka Hi-Fi!

Enjoy a quiet drink on the all weather stoep with your friends. Swarries has brought many people together and there is always time for a good party - until Red Ridinghood throws us out at 12!

Remember to visit Swarries while waiting for your food - our food takes a little bit longer, since we prepare it with tender loving care - JUST FOR YOU! Have a look at the delicious meals that Boetie se Kombuis can offer you.
