About our Home on the Great Berg River
Situated in the heart of the Swartland, an easy one hour drive from Cape Town, or from Langebaan or from Ceres, is where you'll find us. Club Elani is an exclusive Holiday Resort at Misverstand Dam on the banks of the Berg River. This is THE place for fun & laughter in the sun, winter or summer.
Established in 1989 by Andre while savoring a brandy and coke with his friends on the stoep of our Villas. They were discussing their children and the future of them in our ever so swiftly changing South Africa.
Another trespasser came through the farm gate to enjoy the day with his kids on the river. My Dad approached them and asked R2 per person to use his land.
A seed was planted as they handed over the money and my Dad, with my Mom assisting (actually doing everything), they created a paradise for the three kids' futures.
Now, after years, our company structure is as follows:
- Caren (thats me) does the catering, administration and finances,
- Nicolaas is outside maintenance,
- Andrew (7 years old), my nephew, is the public relations officer for anyone who would like to play with him,
- Kobus, my youngest brother is involved with the farming and his wife.
- Mandy (Kobus' wife) does all our bookings and also has her own stud - Lulus Appaloosa Stud.
- Not forgetting my Dad, who is still the owner, but ...
- My Mom has been promoted to The Boss - who, when she wears her red jacket, becomes dangerously serious.
